Michael J. Magner resides in Weston, Connecticut with his wife, Leslie, and their two children, Steve and Julie. He is a 1975 graduate of Fairfield Prep and a 1979 graduate of Georgetown University. He worked at Gregory’s Store through his high school years and also worked for the City of Norwalk as a lifeguard at Calf Pasture Beach. In 1978, between his junior and senior years of college, he went to work for his father at the Magner Funeral Home to see if that was where his future was to be. In the fall of 1979, he enrolled at the “American Academy-McAllister Institute of Funeral Directing” to earn his Funeral Director’s License. He joined his father full-time in the fall of 1980. In July of 1982, James P. “Jim” Magner died suddenly, leaving Mike to run the funeral home with his mother, Lois (Levesque) Magner McNamara, who retired in December of 2001. He and his brother Jay are the 4th generation of Magners to run the family business. In his spare time, Mike enjoys bike riding, playing tennis, helping out with community services and spending time with his family.
James P. “Jay” Magner, Jr. resides in Wilton with his wife, Lisa and their 2 children, Michelle and Jessica. Jay was a 1980 graduate of Norwalk High School. After the death of his father in 1982, Jay decided to join his brother Michael in the family business and enrolled in the American Academy-McAllister Institute of Funeral Directing in Manhattan, graduating in 1984. Jay and his family are members of Shore & Country Club in Norwalk.
Chester
Chester “Chet” C. Hatch lives in Norwalk with his wife Maryjane. They are both originally from Danbury, CT, and have two children, Ben and Susan. Chet graduated Danbury High School in 1963 and began his career in funeral service with the Hull Funeral Home in Danbury at the age of 15. He is a graduate of the New England Institute of Funeral Directing in Boston, MA. Chet has been with the Magner Funeral Home since August of 1988 and has been serving families in the greater Norwalk area since 1965. He is a member of the United Congregational Church in Norwalk, the Old Well Masonic Lodge, the Norwalk Seaport Association and a life member of both the Society of Mayflower Descendants in the State of Connecticut and the Disabled American Veterans.
Melissa Melissa D. Heaphy joined our firm in July of 2005.  Melissa lives in Monroe and for the past ten years had worked for the Lesko Funeral Home in Fairfield and Lesko-Minor Funeral Home in Monroe where she was a partner and for the past two years ran the business by herself.  She is a member and past president of the Widowed Persons Service of Greater Bridgeport, The Gaelic-American Club, The American Legion Auxiliary, Post 176 in Monroe, The Monroe Scholarship Committee and was formerly on the Board of Directors for the Monroe Chamber of Commerce.  Melissa enjoys collecting old books and  playing guitar.
