Albert J Krawiecki

January 26, 1929 ~ June 9, 2017 (age 88) 88 Years Old

     Albert J. Krawiecki, age 88 of Norwalk, died peacefully at his home on Friday, June 9.  He was the loving husband for 60 years of Beatrice M. Smith Krawiecki.  Albert was born in Newtown on January 26, 1929, the son of the late Felix and Veronica Kozlofski Krawiecki.  He was an elementary school teacher in Norwalk for many years prior to his retirement.  He was a former member of the Norwalk and Newtown Lions Clubs, was a lifetime bowler and an avid marathon and long distance runner.  He completed the marathon eight times, his best time in the Boston Marathon he set in 1951 at three hours and ten minutes.  Albert was a member of St. Matthew Church in Norwalk with an involved commitment to prayer.  He had a special interest and dedication to the provision of personal and community experiences for adults with visual impairments.  Albert also had a special commitment and love for the care of the land.

     In addition to his wife Beatrice, Albert is survived by his children Patti-Ann Ball and her husband Richard, Marci-Ann Calabrese and her husband Gary, Barbi-Ann Krawiecki and Jon Marc Krawiecki, his grandchildren Sadie and Remy Ball, Gina and Vito Calabrese, his brother Valery Krawiecki and his wife Barbara, and several nieces and nephews.  Albert was also predeceased by his siblings Edward, Frank and William Krawiecki and Wanda Krawiecki Towner.

     A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, June 14, 10 AM at St. Matthew Church, 216 Scribner Ave., Norwalk, with burial to follow at St. John Cemetery.  Albert’s family will receive friends at the Magner Funeral Home, 12 Mott Ave., Norwalk on Tuesday from 4-7 PM.  In lieu of flowers, donations in his name may be made to Parents & Friends, LFC, 146 Silvermine Ave., Norwalk, 06850
