Frances M. (Pinto) Connolly

Frances M. Connolly, age 93 of Norwalk, died at her home Wednesday, August 9, 2017 with her loving family by her side. Born in Norwalk, the daughter of the late William and Filomena (DeFillipis) Pinto, she was a graduate of Norwalk High School- Class of 1941, and attended Norwalk Community College. She served as a Corporal in the U.S. Marine Corps during World War II and worked as an office manager at the First District Water Dept.  She was active with “New Voices”, a laryngectomy support group and volunteered at the SoNo Seaport after her retirement. She was also an avid fan of the NY Yankees, UCONN girls basketball, and loved dogs and cats.
Frances is survived by her children, Michael Connolly and his wife Mary of NJ, Stephen Connolly and his wife Gina of CA and Maryanne Connolly of Norwalk, as well as 5 cherished grandchildren and 1 great-granddaughter, brother Billy Pinto, and 2 sisters, Lucy Ely and Vickie Bortolot.
Her family will receive friends on Sunday, Aug 13, from 11-2PM at the Magner Funeral Home, 12 Mott Ave, Norwalk. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, Aug 14, at 10 AM at St. Jerome Church, 23 Half Mile Rd, Norwalk. Burial with military honors will follow at St. John Cemetery, Norwalk. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to:  The Dana Farber Cancer Institute, PO Box 849168, Boston, MA 02884-9168.
