September 26, 1927 ~ April 28, 2016 (age 88) 88 Years Old

Albert Frank Pfister, Sr. age 88, died peacefully on April 28, 2016, at Norwalk Hospital surrounded by his loving family.  Al was born September 26, 1927 in West Haven, CT, and was predeceased by his wife Jane, of 59 years.  Al was the beloved son of the late Sebastian and Lena Pfister and was predeceased by his sister Marie Birmingham and 3 brothers: Paul, Rev.Carl O. Carm. and Joe.
Al was a graduate of West Haven High School and Providence College, Class of 1952.  Following college, he enlisted in the US Army and proudly served his country in Okinawa, Japan.  Al had a successful career as Personnel Director with AT&T, formerly Western Electric Co.
 A friendly, kind gentleman, Al will be remembered for his love and commitment to his family, friends, faith, the New York Rangers and most of all his sailing days on his boat “Janal.” 
 Al is survived by his 4 children, Sharon, Albert Jr. (Donna Dillulio), Susan (Maya Davidson) and Gary, grandchildren Jessica (Nate Bartch) Emily, Katie and Robbie, and great-grandson Colton, as well as a sister, Anne Kirchoff and several nieces, nephews and in-laws.  A special thanks to his niece Carla for all of her loving guidance and assistance and Anne Marie for her loving care to both Al and Jane.

His family will receive friends on Sunday, May 1, from 4-6 pm at the Magner Funeral Home, 12 Mott Avenue. A Funeral Mass will be held on Monday at 10 AM at St. Matthew Church, Norwalk. Burial with military services will follow at St. John Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in his name to the Westport Center for Senior Activities, 21 Imperial Avenue, Westport, CT 06880 or St. Matthew Church, 216 Scribner Ave, Norwalk, CT 06850.
