Alice M Chetta

Alice M. Chetta, age 83, beloved wife to John Chetta passed away Wednesday June 24th at Norwalk Hospital with her family by her side. She was born October 22nd, 1931 in Pau, France to the late Mr. and Mrs. Andre Place. When she was a teenager she represented France in the Olympic Games and won a gold medal in her track and field event. Alice left France when she was 17 years old to come to the United States. She became a floral designer at Meckel’s Florist where she worked for 40 years. Aside from making floral arrangements and gardening, Alice loved taking care of her family. Whether it be making them a delicious meal or just being the best wife and mother that she could be.

In addition to her husband, Alice is survived by her two sons Nick Chetta and his wife Theresa of Norwalk, John Chetta of Norwalk, and her daughter Linda Verbanic of Norwalk. She is also survived by 7 grandchildren; Nick Chetta Jr., Danielle Chetta, Jamie-Lynn Verbanic, Richard Verbanic, Lauren Chetta, Giovanni Chetta, and Michael Chetta, as well as 4 great grandchildren.
