Ann "Grammy" (Canavino) Kerekes

October 17, 1918 ~ July 30, 2015 (age 96) 96 Years Old

     Ann Canavino “Grammy”Kerekes, 96, daughter of the late Michael and Concetta Frate Canavino, entered into rest on July 30th, 2015 with her family by her side.  Born in New Canaan, on October 17th, 1918, she was a life-long Norwalk resident who more recently lived with her daughter in Seymour.  She was the wife of the late Albert Kerekes and mother to Diane (Vincent) Carrano of Woodbridge, Donna ( Brian) Geraghty of Seymour, Thomas Kerekes of Andover; sister of the late Louise Racanello, Marie Baron, Viola Gallo and Anthony, Nicholas and Louis Canavino; proud grandmother of Michelle ( Jason) Geoghan, Gary ( Mamie) Carella, Jessica ( Brendan ) Grant, Michael, Matthew, Eric Carrano and Kit Kerekes; also survived by  her beloved great grandchildren, Erin, Toriana, Cole and Seth Geoghan, Taylor Carella,  Luke and Gabriel Grant.  The family would like to give heartfelt thanks to Ginny Rossi and Allison Garrett for the exceptional care they provided which allowed Ann to reside at home during her last years.  Ann was a gracious, loving woman who gave so much to her family. The family would also like to express their appreciation to Ann's friends at the Oxford Senior Center where she thoroughly enjoyed participating in the choir and other activities. She will be deeply missed and remembered with affection and gratitude.

     Friends may call at the Magner Funeral Home, 12 Mott Ave. Norwalk on Saturday, August 1, from 8:30 am – 9:30 am followed by a 10:00 AM Mass of Christian Burial at St. Matthews Church, 216 Scribner Ave. in Norwalk.   Burial will be at St. John's Cemetery.
