Ann E. (Turso) Smith

     Ann E. Smith, age 81 of Norwalk, died peacefully at the Norwalk Hospital on July 26, 2016 after a long illness.  She was born in Harrison, New York on August 18, 1934, the daughter of the late Joseph and Millie Stagno Turso.

She worked as a nurse’s aide at the Darien Convalescent Home, Clairol and the Stamford School System where she worked at Westhill High School and Springdale Elementary School.  She enjoyed working with ceramics and loved spending time with her four grandchildren.

     Survivors include her longtime partner Richard Skarad of Norwalk, her sons Roger Smith and his wife Dawn Marie Cortese-Smith of Bridgeport, Joe Skarad and his wife Terri Rasile Skarad of Stamford, grandchildren Sarah Rose Smith, Jacob Ryan Smith, Joey Skarad and Mikhaila Skarad, her sister Angie Timmerman and several nieces and nephews.

Private graveside services for Ann were held at St. John Cemetery in Norwalk.
