April 15, 1932 ~ June 28, 2015 (age 83) 83 Years Old


Arthur C. Davis, age 83, beloved husband of Margaret “Ann” (Connor) Davis of 62 years, entered eternal life on Sunday, June 28, 2015 at St. Vincent’s Medical Center after a courageous battle against diabetes, with his family by his side.  Born April 15, 1932 in Norwalk, he was the son of the late Arthur Eugene Davis and Carmela (Vertucci) Davis Petracelli.  He was predeceased by two brothers Eugene and Edward Davis.  Arthur served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War. As a union member of local #38, he worked for many years in the sheet metal trades. 
A sports enthusiast since his youth, he developed a passion for coaching, and was the founder of the Northrop Little League in Glenbrook, and was given the honor of the title of “fatherof the Northrop Little League".  He also coached Pop Warner football league (Moose Team).  During that time he also coached Miss Softball America when his youngest daughter Gloria was playing softball. He continued to coach and support all his grandsons through their years involved with sports.  After his retirement he took up golf and enjoyed many good times at Oak Hills, where he later became a Ranger. He loved and valued his family and especially enjoyed sharing stories and laughter. He took pride in taking care of his home and enjoyed his peaceful mornings on his deck in the backyard.  
In addition to his loving wife Ann, Arthur is survived by their children; Arthur C. Davis Jr., and his wife Sharon, Deborah Karwosky and her husband Brian , Kathy Piro and her husband Robert “Bo”, and Gloria Raymond and her husband Richard, Grandchildren, who affectionately called him "Pocky" ; Brian “Turk” Jr. (wife Krista), Eric and Nicole Karwosky, Robert Piro (wife Monika) and Michelle “Mike” Piro, Stephanie, Scott Arthur and Krystina Davis, as well as 2  Great-grandchildren Aianna and Cole, a brother Robert “Bob” Davis and 2 sisters, Bernice and Barbara, and many nieces and nephews who loved their Uncle Art dearly.
Arthur's family will receive friends on Friday, July 3, from 8-10 AM at the Magner Funeral Home, 12 Mott Avenue, Norwalk. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday at 10:30 AM at St. Matthew Church, 216 Scribner Ave, Norwalk. Burial with military honors will follow at St. John Cemetery, Norwalk. Memorial donations may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project (www.woundedwarriorproject.org) ;
