Christina (DiMassa) DiMeglio

     Christina DiMeglio, age 98 of Norwalk, died peacefully at her home on Friday, July 28.  She was the wife of the late Clemente DiMeglio.  Christina was born in Brooklyn, NY on July 24, 1919, the daughter of the late John and Julia DiMassa.  Her family moved back to Ischia, Italy where she grew up and returned to the U.S. in 1946.  Christina worked for several years as a toy assembler for Character Novelty in Norwalk and was very artistic.  She loved gardening, cooking and maintaining her home and she especially enjoyed time with her loving family.

     Christina is survived by her children Anthony DiMeglio of Norwalk, John DiMeglio and his wife Linda of Redding and Lucia Buckley and her husband Philip of Fairfield, her sister Mary DiScala of Norwalk, grandson Michael DiMeglio and his wife Laura, great grandchildren Addison and Jackson DiMeglio and several nieces and nephews.

     A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, August 1, 10 AM at St. Thomas the Apostle Church, 205 East Ave., Norwalk with burial to follow at St. John Cemetery.  There are no visiting hours.  In lieu of flowers, donations in Christina’s name may be made to the Open Door Shelter, 4 Merritt St., Norwalk, 06854.
