Flora Tavella

Flora Tavella 95, a lifelong resident of Norwalk, passed away on May 13th after a brief illness. Born in Norwalk, she was the daughter of the late Rocco and Lena Masi Tavella. 

Flora was an active member of AARP, having served as Secretary for many years, and a faithful communicant and founding member of St. Philip Church.  She was an avid bowler and participated in tournament bowling for many years.  Most recently, Flora was employed by Deluxe Check Printers, the office of Dr. Arnow, and served as a hostess for many years at the Blue Moon Restaurant. 

She is survived by her sister Jane Gilchrist and brother Joe Tavella.  Flora is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews and their families, many cousins and her many dear friends.  Flora was predeceased by four brothers:  Frank, Jim, Dominick (Muzzy) and Rocco, Jr.

The family would like to thank the residents and staff of The Maplewood, Strawberry Hill, for making Flora’s life so joyful during her last few years.

Calling hours will be held on Monday May 16th from 4 to 7 at The Magner Funeral Home, 12 Mott Avenue, Norwalk.  A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. at St. Philip Church, One Father Conlon Place, Norwalk.   Interment will follow at St. John Cemetery, 223 Richards Avenue, Norwalk.
