George Papastathis

George Papastathis, 89, of Norwalk passed away on Monday, August 15, 2016 from natural causes.  He was predeceased by his beloved wife, Mary Chetcuti Papastathis.  George was born in the village of Georgitsi in Sparta, Greece on February 25, 1927; son of Dionysios and Angeliki Papastathis.  Beloved father of Dennis Papastathis (and his wife Anne Heliotis Papastathis), Angelina Katsos, and Sophia Talnose Csizmar (and her husband Steven Csizmar).  Loving grandfather of George Papastathis, Nicole Papastathis Huffman, Maria Katsos Michalakos, George Chen, Jason Talnose, and Evan Talnose, as well as great-grandfather to 6 great-grandchildren.  He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.

Calling hours will take place on Wednesday, August 17, 2016 in Magner Funeral Home, 12 Mott Avenue, Norwalk, from 5 PM to 8 PM.  Funeral service will be held on Thursday, August 18th at 10 AM in Saint George Greek Orthodox Church followed by interment in Saint John’s Cemetery, 223 Richards Avenue, Norwalk.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Saint George Greek Orthodox Church, 238 West Rocks Road, Norwalk, CT 06851.  May his memory be eternal!
