March 15, 1929 ~ January 25, 2015 (age 85) 85 Years Old

     Giuseppe Iacono, age 85 of Norwalk, died peacefully at his home on Sunday. January 25, 2015.  He was the loving husband of the late Dina DiMeglio Iacono.  Giuseppe was born in Barano di Ischia, Italy on March 15, 1929, the son of the late Sammuel and Marcella Mattera Iacono and has lived locally since 1955.  He was retired from Nash Engineering where he had worked in the maintenance department for 25 years.  He was a member of the Norwalk Senior Center, enjoyed gardening, making wine, playing bocce and walking.  He was also a movie buff, enjoyed music and especially enjoyed spending time with his family.

     Survivors include a son, George J. Iacono and his wife Theresa of Norwalk, a daughter Marsha M. Sargent and her husband Russell of Trumbull, his siblings Lucia Lombardi of Italy, Franca Mancusi of Norwalk, Giovanni Iacono of Norwalk and Georgette Migliccio of Italy.  Also surviving are three grandchildren, Alyssa, Derek and Justin, and many nieces and nephews.  He was also predeceased by his brother Michael and sister Mary.

     A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, January 31, 9:30 AM at St. Joseph Church, 85 S. Main St., Norwalk, with burial to follow at St. John Cemetery.  The family will receive friends at the Magner Funeral Home, 12 Mott Ave., Norwalk on Friday from 4-8 PM.  In lieu of flowers, donations in his name may be made to St. Joseph Church.
