July 9, 1944 ~ July 15, 2017 (age 73) 73 Years Old

John Lee Skrensky, 73, of Norwalk, passed away peacefully with his family by his side on July 15, 2017 after a courageous battle with cancer.  He was the husband of Mary Sue (Cutrone) Skrensky. John was born on July 9, 1944 in Norwalk, Connecticut, son of the late John Skrensky and Lisa (Olsen) Genestra.  John founded and ran Skrensky Construction Company for several decades and more recently worked as a carpenter for the Stamford Board of Education until his retirement. Throughout his life John loved music and played the bass guitar in various bands. He brought so much joy to many family holidays and events with his love of music. He enjoyed nothing more than time spent with his family, especially his six grandchildren.

John will be deeply missed by wife Mary Sue; daughters Lori Walsh and husband Kevin, Sheri Delewski and husband Jim, Karen Myers and husband Corey and his 6 beloved grandchildren; Jimmy Delewski, Matthew Delewski, Brendan Walsh, Grace Walsh, Ella Myers and Cora Myers who he adored so much.

 The family would to thank Dr. Richard Frank and the staff at the Whittingham Cancer Center, Visiting Nurse and Hospice of Fairfield County and Sharon Mack and her staff for the kindness, comfort and support they provided John and his family.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, July 21 at 10am at St. Philip Church, 25 France Street, Norwalk with burial to follow at St. John Cemetery, 223 Richards Avenue, Norwalk. Calling hours will be held on Thursday, July 20 from 4 to 8 pm at the Magner Funeral Home, 12 Mott Avenue, Norwalk.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Whittingham Cancer Center, 34 Maple Street, Norwalk, CT 06856 or to St. Philip Church.
