Lillian (Kleiss) Sommers

Lillian Sommers, age 97, died on Monday, February 23, 2015 at her home in Stamford, CT. Born in Brooklyn, NY, the daughter of the late Edward and Emilie (Wagner) Kleiss, she was the devoted wife of the late Leonard W. Sommers, a veteran of World War II.  In recognition of his service, Lillian continued supporting local veteran groups over the years, especially the V.F.W.

Lillian was very active with her church throughout her life, and in her younger years spent countless volunteer hours helping others in the community.

She is survived by her loving daughter Deborah Sommers Fraioli and her husband Richard of Stamford, CT a niece Melinda Schroeder and her husband Dennis and a brother-in-law Kenneth Sommers of Astoria, NY.

Her family will receive friends on Thursday, Feb. 26, from 4 to 8 PM at the Magner Funeral Home, 12 Mott Avenue, Norwalk.  Funeral Services officiated by Rev. Robert D. Beinke, will be held at 11 AM on Friday, Feb. 27 at St. Peter Lutheran Church 208 Newtown Ave, Norwalk, with burial to follow at Riverside Cemetery, Norwalk.
