Lorraine Dwyer Schreiner was born in Hartford Connecticut November 26th, 1916. She is the first-born child of Alice Conlin Dwyer and Edwin Francis Dwyer. She had a younger brother, Edwin Franklin Dwyer. Lorraine was a proud graduate of Hartford Public High School High School and the only woman graduate who immediately obtained employment. She was a pioneer as a female entrepreneur who worked her whole life. Her marriage to United States Air Force Lt. Colonel, and World War II hero, Sigfried A. Schreiner set the stage for many of the adventures they shared. Building on a love of travel and their knowledge of the world of educators, they opened Educators Activities Association in the mid-sixties. The Norwalk office was located on Wall Street and was the contact point for international group tours provided to many tri-state organizations. Earlier in her business life, Mrs. Schreiner was the founder and CEO of Tally, Inc., a marketing and retail survey concern. She was an active force in the civic life of Norwalk, her home since 1951. The local American Red Cross benefitted from many years of her tireless volunteer service. In 1995 Lorraine was named volunteer of the year by the Norwalk chapter of the Multiple Sclerosis Association of America. Lorraine had a great interest in politics and local government and it was fitting that she was appointed the Democratic Assistant Registrar of Voters for Norwalk. The Notre Dame Convalescent Home cared for her since late 2010. She is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law Suzanne Schreiner Murphy and William Murphy of Southampton, N.Y and Heidi Schreiner Godleski and Daniel Godleski of Norwalk and her son Christopher I. Schreiner and daughter-in-law Dr. Debby Schreiner of Norwalk. Lorraine’s beloved grandchildren are Alison Murphy of New York, NY, Selena May Zepf of East Islip, N.Y., Maria Elena Godleski of Burlington, VT and her spouse Nadine Paffett-Lagussy, and Christopher A. Schreiner of Norwalk, CT. Her grandson, Neil Godleski, predeceased Mrs. Schreiner. Lorraine leaves one great-grandson, James A. Zepf of New York, NY. She will be reunited with her constant companion, her little dog Nick.
