Magdalena Aurelia (Kovacs) Stein

      Magdalena Aurelia Stein, age 91 of Norwalk, died peacefully at the Norwalk Hospital on Friday, February 12, 2016.  She was the wife of the late Boris A. Stein.  Born in Hungary on April 14, 1924, she was the daughter of the late Kalman and Teresa Kovacs and has lived locally since 1954.  Magdalena was a very loving wife and mother who lived for her children.  She loved nature, animals and classical music and was very proud when she became an American citizen.
     Survivors include her children, Gabor Stein and his companion Judy Zanotta of Branford, Tom Stein of Norwalk, Andrea T.R. Stein and her life partner Steven Didsbury of Cape Cod, her two granddaughters Alexis Magdalena Stein and her husband Keith, and Sasha Joyce Stein, her great grandson to be Ansel Atlas Stein, and her devoted companion Emidio “Ed” Corvino.
The family wishes to offer their deepest gratitude to the incredible medical team at Norwalk Hospital; Bailey, our wonderful chaplain; and all the administrators, caregivers and Sisters at Notre Dame Convalescent Home in Norwalk. Your skill, tenderness & compassion allowed our Beloved Mother to enter into Heaven surrounded by grace, dignity and, most importantly, Love
     The Stein family will receive friends at the Magner Funeral Home, 12 Mott Ave. on Wednesday, May 25, from 1-3 PM, with a memorial service to begin at 1:30.  As per her wishes, Magdalena’s ashes will be buried with her mother in Hungary.  Donations in her name may be made to the ASPCA (www.aspca.org).
