Marian Katherine O’Sullivan a longtime resident of Norwalk passed away peacefully at age 93 on December 31, 2016. Born in New York City to the late William Kuzma and Helen (Sucharnick) Kuzma. She grew up in NYC and graduated at 15 from James Monroe High School and then attended the Office Exchange Business School. After which she was a Corporate Executive Secretary at R. H. Macy’s before marrying and raising a family. She lived with her family in Long Island, Ireland, Bermuda before moving to Norwalk in 1960.

She was a gifted singer, avid reader and seamstress. Her love of music and books has been passed down to her children and grandchildren. She returned to work in 1976. Served as Executive Secretary to Mayor Jennie Cave, as an Executive Assistant to the Academic Dean of Norwalk Community College and then Executive Assistant to the President of the NCC. In 1987 she earned her associate degree from NCC.

Her volunteer work included gardening and choral groups, a Meals-on-Wheels driver and the coordinator for the Norwalk Senior Center Advocacy group. In 2002 she was named Woman of the Year.

Survivors include three children, her daughter Deirdre Muench and her husband Henry of Fairfield, Ct, her two sons Dr. Brian O’Sullivan of Northborough Mass, and Brendan O’Sullivan and his fiancée Karen of Campbell, CA.; five grandchildren, Stephen(Sara), Elena(Ken), Matthew(Holly), Eric and Rachel and two great-grandchildren Aiden and Emily and one more on the way and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brother William Kuzma and her former husband Marcus O’Sullivan.

Friends and family are invited to attend her funeral service on Monday at 11am directly at St Jerome’s Church, East Rocks Road, Norwalk. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Marian O’Sullivan’s memory may be made to Notre Dame Convalescent Homes, Inc., Norwalk or Under One Roof, Inc. / The Marvin, Norwalk.
