Ralph C Tirella, Sr.

Ralph C. Tirella Sr, age 76, of Oxford, beloved husband of Nancy (McGarry) Tirella for 57 years, died on Friday April 17, 2015 at St. Vincent's MC, Bridgeport.  Born in Norwalk, the son of the late Carmine and Lauretta (DePalma) Tirella, he attended Norwalk and Wilton schools and worked for Hocon Gas for over 40 years, retiring as VP of Sales. Having lived in Wilton for 42 years, he was a member of the Wilton Police Auxiliary, as well as the Eagles Club, and was an honorary member of the American Legion in Oxford. He enjoyed weight training in his youth as well as hunting and fishing.
In addition to his loving wife, Ralph is survived by their children; Ralph (Lorraine) Tirella Jr of Oxford, Elaine (Bruce) Miner of Beacon Falls, and Patrick (Michelle) Tirella of Ansonia, 7 cherished grandchildren; Ralph C. III, Jennifer and Kevin Tirella, Matthew and Melissa Tirella and Everett and Eric Miner, as well as a great grandson Philip J. Tirella, a sister, Catherine and many other friends and relatives. 
His family will receive friends on Tuesday from 4 - 8 PM at the Magner Funeral Home, 12 Mott Ave, Norwalk. A Funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday at 11AM at St. Philip Church, 1 Fr. Conlon Pl, Norwalk, with burial to follow at St. John Cemetery, Norwalk. Memorial donations may be made to: Oxford Ambulance Association, PO Box 515, Oxford, CT 06478.
