Thomas Conte

     Thomas Conte, age 90 of New Canaan, died peacefully at his home on Monday, June 19, 2017.  He was the husband of the late Rosa Granata Conte.  Born in Minturno Italy on November 14, 1926, he was the son of the late Pasquale and Colomba Conte and has lived locally for over 60 years.  Thomas worked first as an electrician and in the 1960’s started his own business, Thomas Conte Builders, building residential homes throughout Fairfield County.  He was an avid fisherman and hunter and was renowned for his gardening skills and wine making.  He adored his grandchildren Max and Rikki and was a member of the St. Ann Club, the Norwalk Rod & Gun Club and the Minturnese Club.

     Thomas is survived by his children Pat Conte and his wife Janet of Southbury, Giovanna Conte and her husband Keal Evans, and Anthony Conte, all of New Canaan.  Thomas is also survived by his loving grandchildren Max and Rikki, his siblings Michael and Nunzina, and many nieces and nephews.  He was also predeceased by his daughters-in-law Susan Ryan Conte and Jodi-Anne Adinolfi Conte, grandson Richard Thomas Conte and his siblings Angelina, Maria and Benito.

     A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Matthew Church, 216 Scribner Ave., Norwalk at 10 AM on Friday June 23, with burial to follow at St. John Cemetery.  There will be no visiting hours.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, 38 Richards Ave., Norwalk, 06850 (www.cancer.org.)
