Umberto Antonio DiRenzo

Umberto Antonio DiRenzo, age 79, beloved husband of Anna DiRenzo, passed away suddenly on Thursday, September 8, 2016 at home. Umberto was the son of the late Umberto and Orsola (Lucci) DiRenzo, he was born on August 29, 1937 in Pennadomo, Italy.

Umberto traveled to America in 1955 on the SS Andrea Doria and settled in Norwalk, CT.  He owned and operated a repair/gasoline service center for most of his career.  For the remainder of his career he was a mechanical set up operator at Pepperidge Farm Bakery.

His passions were the love of his family and friends, gardening, landscaping, home projects and traveling.

In addition to his wife Anna, Umberto is survived by his sons, Robert DiRenzo and Enzo and his wife Millie DiRenzo, a sister Giacinta Pantalone and husband Domenico, sister in law Maria and husband Carlo Passalaqua, brother in law Domenico and Antonietta DiRenzo and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.  He was predeceased by a sister Ermelinda DiGravio.

A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Monday September 12, 2016 at 10 AM at St. Matthews Church, 216 Scribner Avenue, Norwalk. Entombment will follow in St. John Mausoleum, Norwalk. Calling hours will be on Sunday September 11, from 4 to 8 PM at The Magner Funeral Home, 12 Mott Avenue, Norwalk.  In lieu of flowers donations can be made in Umberto's memory to The American Cancer Society or The American Heart Association
