Yvette Yvonne (Labonte) DeLong

Yvette Yvonne DeLong, age 91, beloved wife of 68 years to Charles W. DeLong passed away on Saturday July 16, 2016 at Notre Dame Convalescent Home. She was born in Leominster, MA on April 29, 1925 to the late Phillipe and Alexina (Bilodeau) Labonte. Yvette retired as an electrical assembler from both Burndy and Airpot Corporations after years of service, and was an active volunteer and Eucharistic Minister at St. Thomas the Apostle Parish.

In addition to her husband, Yvette is survived by 2 children, Charles W. DeLong, Jr, and his wife Sue and Karen Monroe, 4 grandchildren, Lauren DeLong, Megan DeLong and her husband Erich Eilenberger, Travis Monroe and his wife Megan and Justin and his fiancé Cuyler Rush, and 4 great grandchildren Ellie and Addison DeLong, Molly and Reagan Monroe, 2 sisters, Marie (Fern) Overton and Lillian Peden as well as several nieces and nephews. Yvette was predeceased by a brother Norman Labonte and a sister, Irene Tavella.

A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Friday, July 22,10:00am at St. Thomas the Apostle Church, 203 East Avenue, Norwalk. Burial will follow at St. John Cemetery, 223 Richards Avenue, Norwalk. In Lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Notre Dame Convalescent Home, 76 West Rocks Road Norwalk.  Calling hours will take place on Thursday, July 21 from 4 to 7 PM at The Magner Funeral Home, 12 Mott Avenue, Norwalk.
