Helen O. (DeFinis) Terry

Helen O. Terry, age 95, passed away peacefully on April 8, 2024 at Notre Dame Health Center in Norwalk. Born in Brooklyn, NY on June 17, 1928 to John and Domenica (Caesarini) DeFinis. She is predeceased by her brother Fred DeFinis and niece Ann Marie DeFinis Dustin.

She is survived by her son Edward J. Terry and his wife Lee of Norwalk. Four grandchildren, Eddie, Eric (Miranda), Emily Dunlavey (John) and Kristen. Four great grandsons, Caleb, Luke, Nick, and Matt. Her nephew Fred DeFinis (Betsy) and several great nephews.

Helen lived in Norwalk most of her life and graduated from Norwalk High School, Class of 1946. She always enjoyed going to the reunions and keeping in touch with past classmates. She was known for her interest in tarot card readings, horoscopes, the Ouija board and always having a little premonition of what was to come. She also enjoyed reading and spending time with family and friends by her backyard pool. Helen had fond memories of going out to the islands off the Norwalk shore with her family on her brother’s boat, to swim and barbecue on the beach for many summers.

Helen worked as a beautician at local salons for many years and enjoyed the friendships that were formed there and around town.

Her family wishes to thank Notre Dame for the special attention and love they gave to their mom.
