After receiving her nursing degree from Mercy School of Nursing in Springfield, Therese worked as a nurse in Massachusetts, Maine, and New York City. In 1964 Therese and Bill, with their four children, moved from New York City to Norwalk CT.  Therese had a varied and long volunteer career including with the Mid-Fairfield County Chapter of the American Red Cross as a board member and the Blood Services Chairman.  Therese enjoyed taking her grandchildren with her to volunteer at blood drives. In addition, she was on the board of the United Way, volunteered with the Norwalk Hospital Foundation Treasure House and as a volunteer nurse with the Norwalk Public Schools. She received the Clara Barton Award, which honors individuals who have displayed a long-term commitment to the lifesaving activities and services of the American Red Cross, as well as numerous other awards for her volunteer service.

Therese was a member of PEO, the Sisterhood of women who are passionate about celebrating, supporting, motivating, and helping women advance thru education.
