mikeMichael "Mike" J. Magner resides in Weston, CT with his wife, Leslie and his two children Steve and Julie. He is a 1975 graduate of Fairfield Prep and a 1979 graduate of Georgetown University.In the fall of 1979, he enrolled at the American Academy-McAllister Institute of Funeral Directing to earn his Funeral Director's License. He joined his father full-time in the fall of 1980.  He and his brother Jay are the 4th generation of Magners to run the family business. In his spare time, Mike enjoys bike riding, kayaking, helping out with community services and most of all, spending time with his family.

jayJames "Jay" P. Magner, Jr. resides in Wilton, CT with his wife, Lisa and their two children, Michelle and Jessica. Jay is a 1980 graduate of Norwalk High School and is a member of St. Jerome Church. After the death of his father in 1982, Jay decided to join his brother Michael in the family business and enrolled in the American Academy- McAllister Institute of Funeral Directing in Manhattan, graduating Cum Laude in 1984. James and his family are members of Shore & Country Club in Norwalk, CT. He enjoys boating, playing tennis and spending time with his family.

maribethMaribeth Magner Hemingway, our office manager and bookkeeper, is Michael and Jay's sister. She is a valuable resource to Magners and the first caring voice you will hear if you call on a weekday morning. Maribeth lives in Newtown and has been married to her husband Joe for 27 years. They have two daughters, Sarah and Maggie. Maribeth graduated from Central Catholic High School and earned a BA in Economics from St. Michael's College in Vermont. She is member of St. Rose of Lima R.C. Church and volunteers with The American Red Cross and Newtown Youth Services. In her spare time, she enjoys playing tennis, gardening and political campaigns. Highly family oriented, Maribeth will be there to help as your first contact with our firm.

melissaMelissa Heaphy resides in Monroe. A licensed funeral director, having earned her degree from Briarwood College, she  worked for Lesko & Lesko-Miner Funeral Homes since 1994. She  joined the Magner Funeral Home in July 2005, and also holds a CT Life Insurance license.  Past-president of the Widowed Persons Service of Greater Bridgeport Inc. and recipient of the WPS "Rose of Hope" Award, Melissa is a member of  the American Legion Auxiliary-Unit 176. She especially enjoys volunteering at P.A.W.S. and guest-speaking annually  to classes at Norwalk Community College. Melissa enjoys cats, motorcycles and antique books.

Salvatore F. Spadaccino
resides in Bridgeport. Sal, a third generation funeral director, began working in his family business, S. Spadaccino & Sons Funeral Home in Bridgeport, after high school and on weekends. Like his grandfather and father before him, Sal attended American Academy McAllister School of Embalming, New York, and graduated in 1991. He was associated with the family business and also was a funeral director and embalmer at Cyril F.Mullins Funeral Home in Trumbull, CT. With his father and uncles, Sal helped organize the annual UNICO/Spadaccino golf tournament which funded a scholarship for area students in memory of his grandparents.
