Frank Paqua Obituary

Frank James Paqua, 91, died peacefully in his home in New Milford, CT, after a long illness, on July 13, 2018, cared for by his wife of 62 years, Elvera (DiScala) Paqua, his daughter Deana and her partner Keith. Frank was born in Norwalk on July 12, 1927, and was a Norwalk  resident for over 86 years. Frank is survived by his sister Dorothy Paqua, and by his nieces, nephews and cousins. Frank was predeceased by his parents, Julia (Bardos) and James Paqua, and his sister, Jacquelyn Christiano.

 

Frank was a veteran of the U.S. Army and served between 1951 and 1953 in the 28th Division Regimental Combat Team, stationed in Augsberg, Germany.  Frank retired from Nash Engineering Co. after 48 years as the Chef/Manager of the company cafeteria. Frank also was a Biddy Basketball coach in Norwalk for a number of years. Frank belonged to the Norwalk Senior Center, the New Milford Senior Center, the American Legion, and the Veterans of Foreign Wars.

 

A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Saturday, July 28, at 10am, at St. Philip’s Church, Father Conlon Place, Norwalk, CT with burial to follow at St. John’s Cemetery, Richard’s Avenue, Norwalk.

 

In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate contributions made to the Alzheimer’s Association and St. Philip’s Church of Norwalk in Frank’s memory.
