Born in St. Ludger, Québec on June 19, 1932, he was the sixth of 11 children of the late Archélas and Rose-Anna Beaudoin.

Before moving to Connecticut in 1967, he married the love of his life in 1956, Carmelle Doyon, and was blessed with 60 years of marriage and five daughters, Danielle, Lucie, Louise, Caroline, and Nancy, and two sons-in-law, Jack Arb and Philip Ross, eight grandchildren, and three great grandchildren. He truly enjoyed his life centered on his family and his close friends here and in Canada. He is predeceased by his beloved wife Carmelle, brother Berchmans, and sisters Simonne (Trudel), Germaine (Begin), and Gilberte (Lapierre).

Bertrand was a faithful member of St. Mary's Church for over 50 years and a Knights of Columbus life member. He was recognized as a true craftsman by the CT Auto Body Association, demonstrating a lifelong commitment to excellence in the field. He regularly volunteered his time to assist anyone who needed help and was a loyal friend to those who knew him. He enjoyed being outdoors, morning walks, live concerts, and family trips.
