Welcome to the memorial page for

Daniel Hoa Boll

May 2, 1969 ~ August 18, 2017 (age 48) 48 Years Old

Daniel Hoa Boll, age 48, son of the late William Lamar Boll and Constance Clibbon Boll died unexpectedly on august 18, 2017 at Mission Hospital in Asheville, North Carolina.   Danny was born on May 2, 1969 in the province of Ba Xuyen, Vietnam and joined his Connecticut family on august 30, 1972.  In addition to his mother, he is survived by his brothers Jay Boll and Michael H. Boll, and sisters Lamar M. Boll and Lianne N.L. Boll, sister-in-law Tina Kuenning-Boll and the following Boll nieces and nephews: Joey, Sarah, David, Nat, and Emmeline.

Danny attended Plumfield School in Darien, CT, Eagle Hill School in Greenwich, CT, and graduated from Martin County High School in Stuart, FL.    He was a leading athlete on his middle and high school soccer teams and the star kicker for the Martin County High School football team.  Throughout his life he competed in soccer events around the country and helped coach in youth soccer.

Danny came to us from Vietnam at the height of the Vietnam War.  He’d had to survive on the streets of Khanh Hung and only when he arrived in Saigon did he find safety and love at Allambie Orphanage under the direction of his savior, Australian born Rosemary Taylor.  He joined our family when we lived on Dibble Street in Rowayton, and the dirt road in was then, the woods behind the house, the variety store in town, the skating pond in winter, the sports fields at school — these became Danny’s safety net.   Danny loved sports and he played hard.   It is fitting that his last moments were spent in the company of his fellow employees at Pizza Hut some of whom played soccer with him.

A memorial service will take place on September 14, 2017 at the Magner Funeral Home, 12 Mott Avenue, Norwalk, CT at 5 pm.

Burial will be held at a later date at Rowayton Union Cemetery.
