Elba J. (Diaz) Pecunia

   Elba J. Pecunia, age 87 of Norwalk, died peacefully at the Norwalk Hospital on Tuesday, September 26.  She was the loving wife of the late John C. Pecunia, Sr.  Elba was born in Marcos Juares, Argentina on March 17, 1930, the daughter of the late Vincente and Dina Ferreyra Diaz and has lived in Norwalk since 1961.  She worked for many years as an accountant and also worked for local actor Christopher Plummer.  She was a member of the St. Ann Club, the Norwalk Boat Club and was active in St. Joseph’s Church.  She also enjoyed working with the Argentine Dance Troupe with her husband.

     Elba is survived by her three children and spouses; Gustavo C. Pecunia and his wife Lisa of VA, Glenda Pecunia Wagner and her husband Richard of Norwalk, and John C. Pecunia, Jr. and his wife Melissa of WI.  She is also survived by her grandchildren Sebastian, Charles, Krystal, Andrew and Nicholas, great grandson Daniel, many nieces and nephews and her dog Perlita.  Elba was also predeceased by her brother Osfaldo Diaz and her sister America Diaz.

     A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, October 2, 10 AM at St. Joseph Church, 85 S. Main St., S. Norwalk, with entombment to follow at St. John Cemetery.  There are no visiting hours.  Donations in Elba’s name may be made to the CT Humane Society, 455 Post Rd., E., Westport, CT, 06880.
