Emma (Cufone) Bestercy

Emma Cufone Bestercy entered eternal rest peacefully on July 14, 2018 in Norwalk, CT.  Emma was born in Norwalk to the late Benjamin and Erminia Cufone. She was predeased by her beloved husband of 41 years Joseph, her brother Frank Cufone and her best friend and sister, Nilda Canevari.  Emma is survived by her sons Mark Bestercy, Roy and Betsy Bestercy and her pride and joy grandson Brent, all of Norwalk, along with many nieces and nephews.

Emma graduated from Norwalk High School.  She began her career at Edwards Company in Norwalk where she met her husband Joe.   Emma then went on to the Norwalk Board of Education where she worked for 38 years as a Purchasing Agent and where she formed many special friendships.  In addition, she enjoyed working part time at the Elegant Lady Bridal Shop where she was able to express her magnificent sense of fashion and style.  Being devoted Catholics, Emma and Joe were one of the first founding members of St. Matthew Church where Emma donated countless volunteer hours.   She loved playing the piano and had a passion for painting.

She will be truly missed by all of the people that she met over the years.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 am on Wednesday, July 18th at St. Matthew Church, 216 Scribner Ave, Norwalk, with burial to follow at St. John Cemetery, Norwalk.  Friends may greet her family on Wednesday at 9:00 a.m. at Magner Funeral home in Norwalk.  In lieu of flowers, contributions in her honor may be made to St. Matthew Church, 216 Scribner Avenue, Norwalk, CT  06854 or St. Judes. 

The family would like to thank all the terrific caregivers from Brightview assisted living and the staff and caregivers at Autumn Lake healthcare for the love and compassion shown Emma.
