Fara M. (Pecunia) Roosa

     Fara M. Roosa, age 96 of Norwalk, died peacefully at Maplewood at Strawberry Hill on Wednesday, August 29.  She was the wife of the late John W. Roosa.  Fara was born on April 25, 1922, the daughter of the late Vincent and Girolama Pecunia and has lived locally for most of her life.  She started working at age 12 in the garment industry and was a production manager for Trudy Toys in Norwalk for many years.  Fara enjoyed cooking and crocheting and loved spending time with her family.

     Survivors include her loving daughters Geraldine (Gerri) Wirth and her husband Fred of Norwalk, Jacqueline (Jackie) Sollicito Reynolds and her husband Rod of Oxford, brother John Pecunia, sister Beatrice Porfilio, 4 grandchildren Jennifer (Joseph) Azary, Lisa (Barry) Miller, John (Devon) Sollicito, and Robert Fink , 6 great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews and her caregiver Barbara.

     A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, September 1, at 10 AM at St. Matthew Church, 216 Scribner Ave., Norwalk, with burial to follow at St. John Cemetery.  Fara’s family will receive friends today (Friday) at the Magner Funeral Home, 12 Mott Ave., Norwalk from 5-7 PM.  In lieu of flowers, donations in her name may be made to St. Matthew Church.
