Giovanna (Bernardi) Iannazzo

     Giovanna Bernardi Iannazzo, age 91 of Norwalk, died peacefully at Norwalk Hospital on July 8, 2017.  She was the beloved wife of the late Felix Iannazzo, whom she was married to for 50 years.  Giovanna was born in Sambiase, Lamezia Terme, Italy on January 25, 1926, daughter of the late Vincenzo Bernardi and Angela Volpe.  She enjoyed to sew and crochet and loved every minute she spent with her loving family.

     Survivors include her daughter Rosina Pansino of Norwalk, grandchildren Patty Pansino-Ruffo and husband Raffaele of Norwalk, Giovanna Pansino-Bianco and husband Ron of Monroe, Mario Pansino and wife Elizabeth of Norwalk, great-grandchildren Matteo and Massimo Ruffo, Ronald and Giulianna Bianco, and Raffaella and Marcella Pansino.  Also surviving are her brother and sister-in-law Antonio and Millie Iannazzo, sister-in-laws Concetta Mazzei and Luisa DeBiase of Norwalk and Angelina, Carmelina and Rosetta of Italy, and many nieces, nephews and cousins here and in Italy.   In addition to her husband and parents, Giovanna was predeceased by her sister Sevarina Bernardi.

     A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, July 11, 10  AM at St. Mary Church, 669 West Ave., Norwalk with burial to follow at St. John Cemetery in Norwalk.  Giovanna’s family will receive friends at the Magner Funeral Home, 12 Mott Ave., Norwalk today (Monday) from 4-8 PM.  In lieu of flowers, donations in her name may be made to St. Mary Church.
