Helen Coker, age 95 of Norwalk, passed away on Saturday morning, August 11, 2018. Born in Rhode Island, Helen moved to Connecticut as a young child, where she spent her remaining years. She worked at the Schick factory, Yale & Town in Stamford, and Trudy Toys in Norwalk. and was a loving wife to her husband Alvin "Corky" Coker, who predeceased her in 1991. She was also predeceased by her siblings; Charlie, Roger and Tony Pappas, Sally Perna and Joan Bolanis as well as her loving son-in-law Brian Petronella.
Helen was a loving mother to Cynthia (Gary) Berne, Elaine Petronella and Craig (Kim) Coker, grandmother to Debra (Matthew) Angell, Susanne Berne (Mark Chandler), Lindsey Petronella, Corinne and Randy Coker. She also leaves 4 cherished great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Helen loved to travel in her early years and loved the casino later in life, going to Vegas and Mohegan Sun on a regular basis.
Her family will receive friends on Thurs., Aug 16 from 4 - 7 PM at the Magner Funeral Home, 12 Mott Avenue, Norwalk. Other services will be held privately. Memorial donations may be made to a charity of one's choice in Helen's name.
