Obituary:
Isabel Szabo, age 98 and wife of the late Steve Szabo, died peacefully at the Norwalk Hospital on Monday, April 15, 2013. Isabel was born on April 3, 1915 in Zemplenagard Borsod Megye, Hungary, the daughter of the late Andrew and Elizabeth Kosztyi. She had worked for many years at the Boots Aircraft Corporation in Norwalk. Isabel was a member of the Ladies Aid Society at the Hungarian (Calvin) Reformed Church. She loved cooking, sewing, flowers, and especially spending time with her loving family.
Survivors include her daughter Elizabeth "Betty" S. Downing (Edwin) of Norwalk, her son Steve Szabo of Trumbull, 7 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren, 1 great great grandchild, and several nieces and nephews. Isabel was also predeceased by her daughter Grace S. Dudas, and her daughter-in-law Carol Szabo.
Services will be held on Friday, April 19, 11 AM at the Magner Funeral Home, 12 Mott Ave., Norwalk, with Rev. Dr. Alexander Havadtoy officiating. Burial will follow at Riverside Cemetery. Isabel's family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday from 5-8 PM. Donations in her name may be made to the Calvin Reformed Church, P.O. Box 629, Norwalk, 06852.
