James Thomas Flynn, Sr., age 76 of Norwalk, died peacefully at the Norwalk Hospital on Friday, May 18, surrounded by his family. He was the loving husband of Esther Imperato Flynn. Jim was born in Providence, RI, the son of the late James J. and Lilian Donahue Flynn. He was a graduate of Danbury State College in 1964 and was then inducted into the US Army, stationed in Germany. He was the owner of Captain Henry’s restaurant in Rowayton for 20 years and then was the owner of Convenience Plus in Stamford for 10 years. He was a diehard Red Sox fan, loved to read and loved his family. In addition to his wife Esther, Jim is survived by his son James T. Flynn, Jr. of White Plains, NY, brothers-in-law and several nieces and nephews. He was also predeceased by his daughter Kathleen Marie Flynn.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, May 22, 10 AM at St. Mary Church, 669 West Ave., Norwalk, with burial to follow at St. John Cemetery. Jim’s family will receive friends at the Magner Funeral Home, 12 Mott Ave., Norwalk on Monday from 5-8 PM.
