Jeannette “Jeanne” Gall, age 93 of Norwalk, died peacefully at her home on Friday, May 18, with her family at her side. She was born in Norwalk on July 6, 1924, the daughter of the late Ulderico and Marianna D’Avanzo Scapeccia. She was a certified nurse’s aide and worked at Courtland Gardens in Stamford for over 20 years. Jeanne loved her home which was always open to friends and family. Having a dinner table surrounded by her family brought her great joy. It was her love for cooking and entertaining that would gather the family weekly and everyone who entered her home always felt comfortable and welcomed. Jeanne also enjoyed working in her yard, working on word finds and watching her favorite T.V. shows. Vacationing with her sisters and family was always a wonderful time for her, as well as playing cards with neighborhood friends.
Jeanne’s family will miss her gentle guidance, her loving manner, big heart and the ability to always take time to help or listen to anyone who needed her. One of her greatest gifts to her family was her gift of time. She made everyone feel loved and expressed her love every day. She loved unconditionally. Her grandchildren meant the world to her and more. She was a wonderful mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. She will be greatly missed.
Jeanne is survived by her loving children, Cheron Gall Carruthers of Norwalk, Bruce Gall and his wife Diane of Norwalk, grandchildren Alexandra, Brian and Daniel Gall, Gwen, Lynn and Bree Levy, her sister Virginia Mirabelli, sisters-in-law Antoinette and Jessie Scapeccia and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her siblings Frank, Joseph and Mary Scapeccia and Palma Breisler.
