Joanne (Vella) Takacs

     Joanne Vella Takacs, age 69 of Norwalk, died on Wednesday, July 26 at Autumn Lake after a courageous 25 year battle with cancer.  She was the wife of the late Steven J. Takacs.  Jo was born in Norwalk on February 23, 1948, the daughter of the late Angela L. Geronimo Vella and the late John A. Vella.  She was a graduate of Norwalk High School and had retired from Ecometics in Norwalk.  Jo enjoyed drawing and music and loved animals, especially her dog Lily.

     Survivors include her son Robert Dudeczka, three stepchildren Jenn, Allison and Robbie Takacs, brother John Vella and his wife Marianne, sisters Colette Marmanides and her husband Gary, Gina Byrd and her husband Shane,   three granddaughters; Lauren, Alexis and Isabella, nephew and nieces John Mathew, Jessica, Angel and Brooke.  She was also predeceased by a sister Donna Lee Toth.

     Joanne’s family will receive friends at the Magner Funeral Home, 12 Mott Ave., Norwalk on Monday, July 31, from 4-8 PM.  In lieu of flowers donations in her name may be made to The American Cancer Society (www.donate.cancer.org) or PAWS (www.pawsct.org).
