John Augustus Willinski

We honor the life of John Augustus Willinski of Norwalk, CT who passed away on Sunday, March 19, 2017 in his home surrounded in love following a very brave and hard fought battle with pancreatic cancer.

John was born in Milo, Maine on December 10, 1940 son of the late Lawrence F. and Charlene C (Stevens) Willinski.  He made his living as an Executive Chef, last retiring from Rock Rimmon Country Club in Stamford Connecticut. He enjoyed the beach, many sports, traveling, hunting and fishing, and escaping to his camp home in Maine. In addition to his wife, Genevieve (Makarewicz) Willinski, John is survived by two daughters; Christina (and husband Rick), Connie (and husband Kevin), a brother, Lawrence Willinski (and wife Carolyn), a sister, Loretta (and husband, Robert), three cherished grandsons; Ryan, Justin, and Kody as well as several nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, John would want donations made to Diabetes and/or Cancer research organizations as he was an advocate and a survivor in so very many ways.

Calling hours will be on Wednesday, March 22, 2017 from 4 to 8 PM at The Magner Funeral Home, 12 Mott Avenue, Norwalk. Burial will be private at the convenience of the family.
