John "Jack" J. Corridon

John Joseph (Jack) Corridon, 78, of East Falmouth, MA died peacefully on Saturday June23 at Cape Cod Hospital after suffering a stroke.

Jack was born in Norwalk to Dr. J. Donald and Louise Fitzpatrick Corridon on August 29, 1939. He attended St. Joseph’s School and Iona Prep and was a graduate of Fairfield University.  He spent the majority of his career as a human resources executive for W.R Grace in New York City.

He married Sheila Tracey, also of Norwalk in 1963 and together they raised five children. As a young man, Jack was a champion swimmer and spent summers as a lifeguard and swim instructor at local pools. As an adult, he enjoyed sailing, playing tennis, paddle and golf and was also an avid gardener. He especially loved spending time with his friends and family.

Jack was involved with the Norwalk Kiwanis Club and Norwalk Catholic Club. He also served as the president of The Shore & Country Club, where he was a long time member.

He is predeceased by parents, his sister Marie Corridon Mortell and his wife Sheila and survived by his brother James, his five children and their spouses - Sean (Kelly) of New York City, Christopher (Rita) of Westport, CT, Kara (Richard) of Medfield, MA, Julie (David) of Madison, CT and Colin (Heather) of Atlantic Highlands, NJ – and 16 grandchildren.

Calling hours will be on Wednesday from 5-8 PM at Magner’s Funeral Home and funeral services will be held at St. Thomas’s Catholic Church on Thursday, June 28 at 10 AM. In lieu of flowers, please direct donations to The Norwalk Hospital Foundation (www.norwalkhospital.org/support)
