Josephine (Riccio) Scordo

     Josephine Riccio Scordo, age 94 of Milford (formerly of Norwalk), passed away peacefully on May 4, 2017.  She was born in Norwalk to the late Luciano and Margherita Riccio.  She was the wife of the late Anthony J. Scordo and was also predeceased by her grandson Michael Lash, son-in-law Robert Hill, sister Ida Castellano and 4 brothers, Albert, John, Michael, and Anthony Riccio.

     Josephine is survived by her beloved children Annette (James) Lash of Milford, Joseph (Katrina) Scordo of Williamsburg, VA, and Marguerite Hill of Bluffton, SC.  She also leaves behind 8 loving grandchildren James (Jane) Lash, Karen (Scott) Haverl, Jonathan (Liberty) Hill, Andrew (Erin) Hill, Emily (Ryan) Thompson, Anthony (Christina) Scordo, Trace Scordo and Max Scordo.  She also has 10 great grandchildren, Michael, Lauren and Emily Haverl, Katie and Ellie Lash, Harrison, Nathan and Aubrey Hill, Carter Scordo and Josephine (Josie) Thompson.

     Josephine was an avid reader, loved making puzzles, playing bingo, gardening, painting, exercise classes and was a wonderful cook.  She lived a life filled with faith, family and friends.  Her family would like to extend their gratitude to the staff at Carriage Green in Milford for their care and compassion.

     A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Thomas the Apostle Church, 203 East Ave., Norwalk, 10 AM on Wednesday May 10, with entombment to follow at St. John Cemetery in Norwalk.  There are no visiting hours. Donations in Josephine’s name may be made to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Pl., Memphis, TN, 38105 (www.stjude.org).
