Margaret (Shimko) Sirois

     Margaret Sirois, age 87, devoted wife of the late Richard T. Sirois Jr., passed away on August 23, 2018, peacefully at home with her beloved family by her side.  She was born in Norwalk on March 21, 1931 and was the daughter of the late Joseph and Elizabeth Shimko.

     She is survived by her daughter Gail Meaney, son Richard Sirois (wife Laurie), brother Robert Shimko, brother-in-law Allen Sirois, grandchildren Adam, Amanda, Elizabeth, Larry, Dennis, Lori, Kristy, Michelle and Kaitlyn, 16 great grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren.

     Margaret was a special woman who devoted her life to caring for others.  She not only cared for her family and grandchildren but also any friend in need.  She left an impression on everyone she met with her humor and love of language.

     Margaret is reunited with those who passed before her, husband Richard Sirois, son-in-law Michael Meaney, daughter Sandra Stamp (husband Larry), granddaughter Gail Sirois, great grandson John Kalnasky, brothers Joseph, John (wife Marie), Vincent Shimko, sister Carole Prycodzien (husband Francis).

     A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday August 27, 10 AM at St. Thomas the Apostle Church, 203 East Ave., Norwalk, with burial to follow at St. John Cemetery.  Margaret’s family will receive friends at the Magner Funeral Home, 12 Mott Ave., Norwalk on Sunday from 3-6 PM.  Donations in her name may be made to the Visiting Nurse & Hospice of Fairfield County, P.O.
