Mary A. (Okarmus) Moriarty

Mary Moriarty, 100, of Norwalk died on Saturday, Oct 6, 2018 at home in the company of her loving family. Born in Georgetown, CT, the daughter of the late Antony and Agnisca (Lorys) Okarmus, she was the wife of the late Francis T. Moriarty. She was also predeceased by her 4 brothers, Antony, Joseph, Henry and Walter Okarmus.  Her family was the most important to her. She also developed lifelong bonds with her nearby neighbors. In addition, she was an avid reader and a strong advocate for education.

She is survived by her daughters,  Elaine Mary Little and her husband Craig and Mary Frances Weiner and her husband Jay, Grandchildren; Heather B. Newton and husband Jim, Kerri A. Leavay and husband Chris, Lorys W. Peddie and husband Dave, as well as cherished Great-grandchildren.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 AM on Tuesday, Oct 9, at St. Matthew Church, 216 Scribner Ave, Norwalk, with burial to follow at St. John Cemetery, Darien. In lieu of flowers, Memorial donations may be made to: the Family & Children’s Agency, 9 Mott Ave, Norwalk, CT 06850.
