Natalie H (Heidel) Polley

January 25, 1929 ~ May 5, 2017 (age 88) 88 Years Old

Natalie Polley, a lifelong resident of Norwalk, passed away Friday morning, May 5th, at home, surrounded by her loving family. Natalie was the daughter of Frank and Helen Heidel, born on January 25, 1929, in Norwalk. She lived in South Norwalk for many years, and attended St. Joseph's school. She was a 1947 graduate of Norwalk High School  

 She is survived by her six children and their families - Deborah Polley and her companion, Paul Frosch; Barbara Mecozzi, her husband, Gary, and their children, Lauren and Christopher and his wife Tyler; Mary Beth Benta and David Benta and their son, David; Robert Polley, his wife, Terri, and their son, John Kearns; Susan Kousidis and Peter Kousidis and their sons, Konstantinos, Yianni, Dimitrios; and Jane Polley. She was predeceased by her former husband, Robert Polley.

.Natalie worked as a secretary before raising her children, and again after they were grown.  She was a secretary to the patent attorney at the American Cyanamid Company and later worked in the guidance department of Brien McMahon High School. Natalie was an expert seamstress. She made many of the clothes she and her children wore. She was also an interior decorator and designer, known best for sewing window treatments and hanging wall paper for her home and the homes of family and friends.

Natalie enjoyed summers with her children at the Ascension Beach Club, where she made many of her lifelong friendships. She always had a quick wit and a wry comment, both of which she maintained to her final days. Natalie will be missed dearly by all who knew her.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Natalie’s memory to Elder House, 7 Lewis Street, Norwalk, CT 06851, where she received excellent care in a joyful community for the past five years.

The family would like to express sincere gratitude to Natalie’s wonderful and devoted caregivers, Manoushka Joseph, Cheryl, and Robin.

There are no calling hours. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday, May 9th, at 10:00 AM, at St. Thomas the Apostle Church, 203 East Avenue, Norwalk, with burial to follow at St. Mary Cemetery, Broad Street, Norwalk
