Rose F. Gravante, 80, of Norwalk, entered into her Lord's Eternity on Friday, Dec 1, 2017 at Norwalk Hospital surrounded by her family and friends. Born in Brooklyn, NY, the daughter of Antonio and Carmela (Genovese) Mazzeo, she was the beloved wife of James B. Gravante for 56 years. Rose possessed a beautiful smile and found much joy in caring for her family.
She is survived by her husband James Gravante, her children: Anthony Gravante, Sara Gravante and husband Doug Harriott, Carmela Gravante and husband Paul Gunnells, and Leonard Gravante. Her grandchildren: Jonathan Harriott, Milena Gravante Gunnells, Carina Gravante Gunnells, and Alex Harriott. Her sister Dee Messina. Her sisters-in-law Angela Macchiarulo and Elinor Gravante. Her nieces: Carmella Errico, Christine Castellano, Christina Pecoraro, and Marisa “Mouse” DiMeglio. Her nephews Nicholas Gravante, Jr., Richard S. Gravante and Paul Macchiarulo. With a special note, her dear, loving caregiver Janet Chin See. Nurses Sandra Stern and Laurie Roberson.
Her family will receive friends on Tuesday and Wednesday, Dec 5 & 6, from 4-8pm at the Magner Funeral Home, 12 Mott Ave., Norwalk. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 am on Thursday, Dec. 7, at St. Philip Church, Norwalk, with entombment to follow at St. John Cemetery.
