Tessie (DiMeglio) Macri, 81, of Weston, Connecticut, passed away on December 22, 2018, following an illness. Born in 1937 in South Norwalk, she is predeceased by her parents, Louis and Josephine DiMeglio of South Norwalk, Connecticut.
A loving mother, wife and homemaker, Tessie was also a co-owner of Macri Construction and later, Macri Properties, a business she still expertly co-managed until just months before her passing. Tessie was an avid gardener who started an organic garden long before it was in vogue and had a love of all flowers and plants. She adored all kinds of crafts, from crochet to pottery. A wonderful cook with a generous and giving heart, she made everyone feel welcome and would frequently break out in song, share a heartfelt smile or laugh, and offer coffee, food, or a kind ear to anyone who entered her home. One of her greatest joys was spending time with her family and she taught us each how to enjoy each moment and live life to the fullest. In short, she made life beautiful for everyone she met, and she will be deeply missed.
Tessie is survived by her husband of 57 years, Angelo Macri; her brother, Louis DiMeglio Jr and his wife, Rosalie; her children Donna Macri Stevens and her husband, Philip; Josephine Fanelli and her husband, Robert; Ralph Macri and his wife, Kristin; and Louis Macri; as well as five adoring grandchildren (Claudia Fanelli and her husband Michael Keisman, Stephanie Fanelli, Caitlyn Stevens, Julia Macri and Emilia Macri), and her beloved bichon, Big John.
Her family will receive friends and family on Wednesday, Dec. 26, from 4-7pm at the Magner Funeral Home, 12 Mott Ave, Norwalk. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 AM on Thursday, Dec. 27 at St. Francis of Assisi, 35 Norfield Road, Weston, with a burial to follow at St. John Cemetery.
