Virginia "Ginger" (Herman) Lane

Virginia Irene Lane was born Virginia Herman to the late Peter and Irene Herman on July 21, 1930 in Norwalk, Connecticut. She graduated from Norwalk High School in 1948, where she was voted “best looking girl” in her class. 

Virginia, better known as “Ginger”, lived in Lake Spofford NH for many years where she worked in Real Estate. Upon her return to Norwalk, she became very involved within her local community.  Ginger was a former member of the Shore and County Club, the Norwalk Hospital Board, the Norwalk Senior Center, and the local AARP.   She was also a member of the Lockwood Matthews Mansion Museum Association where she participated in their Teas.  

A long-time member of the Norwalk Garden Club, she enjoyed attending lectures and field trips.  She participated in the Club’s craft fairs where she often utilized her sewing skills and good taste. She was a thoughtful friend to many and her presence and ready smile will be truly missed by all of those that knew her. 

Ginger is survived by her three children: Francis Lane of Newfields NH, Michael Lane of Amesbury MA, and Andrea Saadatmandi of Anderson, SC; together with 3 grandchildren and 1 great grandson.
