Anthony Joseph Macchiarulo, age 93 of Stratford and former Norwalk resident, died peacefully at St. Vincent’s Medical Center, surrounded by his family. He was the husband of Antoinette Ferrino Macchiarulo. Born on May 27, 1928 in Brooklyn, NY, he was the son of the late Joseph and Antoinette (Guerra) Macchiarulo. Anthony attended local schools and was an HVAC salesman and service technician for Herbert Fuel. He also served in the U.S. Army during WW II and was a former member of the Kiwanis Club and the Knights of Columbus.
Survivors include three children, Virginia Hale (Owen), Jo-Ann Galik (Brian) and Anthony Macchiarulo (Sandy, 8 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, 2 gr. gr. grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents Anthony is also predeceased by his son Joseph, granddaughter Tracy Mead, brothers Rocco and Vincent, sister Rosa Tavolaro and nephew Vincent.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, Dec. 20, 2021, 10 AM at St. Matthew Church, 216 Scribner Ave., Norwalk, with entombment to follow at St. John Cemetery, Norwalk. There are no visiting hours. In lieu of flowers, donations in his name may be made to the American Heart Assoc. (www.heart.org) or to Patriot Angels (www.patriotangels.com).
