Obituary

Antoinette Macchiarulo, age 96 of Stratford, formerly of Norwalk passed peacefully surrounded by her family May 11, 2023. Born on May 25, 1926 in Norwalk, CT, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Jennie Ferrino.

 

Antoinette attended Norwalk schools and graduated from Merrill Business School. She worked as an Administrative Assistant for Prudential Insurance Co. At the age of 65, she earned her life guard certificate and worked as a lifeguard at the New Canaan YMCA. 

 

Antoinette is pre-deceased by her parents, her brother Joe, 3 sisters Fannie, Flo and Mary. She is also predeceased by her husband of 73 years, Anthony Macchiarulo, her son Joseph Macchiarulo, and two grandchildren Tracy Mead and Joseph Macchiarulo, Jr.

 

She is survived by her daughters, Gini Hale (Owen), Jo-Ann Galik (Brian), and her son Anthony Macchiarulo (Sandy), 7 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren.

 

A mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday, May 15, 2023, 10 a.m. at St. Matthew Church, 216 Scribner Ave., Norwalk with entombment to follow at St. John’s Cemetary, Norwalk. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice.
