Obituary

Arthur Edward Scott, Jr., died on Monday, September 4, 2023 at Autumn Lake in Norwalk at the age of 92. Born in Norwalk, the son of the late Arthur and Mary (Carthy) Scott, he was a longtime resident of New Canaan. He was predeceased by his two brothers, Norman, aboard a battleship during WWII, and Ralph, the former chief of police in New Canaan.

A US Navy veteran, having served during the Korean War, he was a hard worker from from his early childhood paper route until his retirement from the US Postal Service as letter carrier, serving New Canaan for many years.  A volunteer firefighter, he was also a member of the Knights of Columbus and the Eagles Club. A devout Catholic, he was active with Holy Trinity Church in Sherman.

Arthur is survived by three daughters, Judith Brown, Donna Daignault and her husband Patrick, and Barbara Gagne,  Grandchildren, Jesse Brown, Ryan and Alex Daignault and Skylar Gagne.

His family will receive friends on Tuesday, Sept 12, from 10-11AM at the Magner Funeral Home, 12 Mott Ave, Norwalk, with Funeral Services to be held at 11AM.  Burial with military honors will follow at St. John Cemetery, Norwalk.
