Barbara Jean Correnty passed away peacefully to be with the Lord on January 4, 2021 after sudden illness, and valiant fight in Norwalk Hospital. She was born to John & Helen (Botticelli) Severini on September 20, 1941. Barbara grew up and attended high school in New Canaan, CT. She attended Danbury State Teacher’s College before marrying Peter John Correnty, Sr in 1961. They built their home in Norwalk. Together they raised four children, were blessed with four grandchildren & recently began doting on three great grandchildren. Barbara enjoyed being a homemaker and a volunteer. She also worked various places where everyone loved and adored her. She was a devout member of St. Matthew’s parish. Barbara enjoyed vacationing with family and friends on cruises and tours as well as trips to Tennessee and their summer home in Vermont. Her favorite travels were to Florida to visit her daughters and families. Grandma Correnty was known for her devotion to family along with amazing cooking and baking skills. Many, including the Home Oilers semi-pro hockey team, her children’s and grandchildren’s school friends, enjoyed her generosity.
Barbara was pre deceased by her parents. She leaves behind her husband of 60 years, her children, Peter John Correnty, Jr., Laura (Mike) Ballew, Michael (Diane) Correnty, Lisa (John) Pitre, her grandchildren Jennifer (Nicholas) Verderosa, Matthew (Christine) Correnty, Alyssa Pitre and Nicholas Pitre, her great grandchildren, Olivia Verderosa, Anthony Verderosa and Luke Correnty, her sister, Carole Lisowski and a large loving extended family.
Unfortunately, a small service has to be private at this time. There will be a grand memorial service celebrating Barbara’s life to be held in the future at St. Matthew Church in Norwalk.
