Barbara Doyle Obituary

Barbara Elizabeth Doyle, age 90, of Hingham, MA., formerly of Weston, passed away peacefully on December 5, 2021.  Barbara was born on October 27, 1931, in The Bronx to Carl H. Schultz and Catherine B. Martin-Schultz.  She was predeceased by her husband Robert, brother Carl Schultz (Janice) and sister Paula Schultze (Paul).

Barbara married the love of her life, Robert P. Doyle, on May 29, 1954.  He preceded her in death after 49 years of marriage.  Together they raised four children.  Barbara loved being a homemaker and was an excellent cook.  Her specialty was pot roast.  After raising her family, Barbara started a second career as a Realtor in Wilton.  She retired after almost 40 years of service in 2015.  Barbara loved working with people and real estate.  Our father would say that going to the grocery store with her took forever, because she would always meet people that she knew.  Our parents traveled extensively including trips to Morocco and Russia.  Many of those trips were with their special friends Vinnie and Marge Marcot.

One of her greatest enjoyments was watching her grandchildren become young adults and having great-grandchildren. She is survived by her children Thomas Doyle (Vanessa), Maureen Ducey (James), James Doyle, Susan Cooper (Brandon).  Grandchildren Brittany Doyle-Loyola (Carlos), Robert and Victoria Doyle, Meghan Ducey-O’Shaughnessy (Dan), Michael Ducey (Hadley), Stephen Ducey, Michael and Ryan Cooper. Her loving great grandchildren are Madison and Sawyer Ducey, Logan Loyola and Jameson O’Shaughnessy.  She is also survived by cousins, nieces, nephews and friends, whom she loved dearly.

Visitation will take place Wednesday, December 15th at Magner Funeral Home in Norwalk, CT from 9:30 to 11:30 with a service at 11:30.  Immediately following the services, her burial will be at Hillside Cemetery in Wilton, CT.   The family asks friends to join them at the Red Rooster Restaurant in Wilton, CT, following the services.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Cure HHT, P.O. Box 329, Monkton, MD 21111.
